What Why

	Wood Chalice is the "shard" name for a unique version of Ultima Online. UO is a graphical based game where you create a little "toon" (cartoon) character, dress them, protect them, arm them and head out into the new world meeting new people as well as monsters. These characters (called Residents in Wood Chalice) "live" their (cyber cartoon) lives building, hunting, cooking, studying and socializing. Players have taken on, but are not limited to, being Humans, Dwarves, Pixies, Vampires, Vampire Bats, various animals including Dragons, Sorcerers, Clerics, Elves, Ninjas, Paladins, Necromancers, Magicians (Mages), and the ultra-dreaded Tax Collectors which we all know are an independent breed of their own. Folks take the base version of Ultima Online, the role-play game, and create their own individual world. This world, also known as a shard, is based entirely upon the creativeness the owner interjects.
	This shard's setting is fantasy and medieval, but modern in speech and current in thinking. It's not a standard era that's already happened in history, in fact we make a lot of our own shard history. History is a big thing with role-players, just in case you haven't been around any yet. We love to document our travels and escapades, just like an author - but our adventures are played out live with other "residents" of the lands.
	Our characters have long histories behind them, some that have traveled from far off lands (other shards, or role-play games) but all are welcome here. To keep some semblance of balance here, we do not allow the role-play of God, Gods, Goddesses or anyone that is God-like. Any character trying to be all powerful, or completely immune just won't cut it. There is a lot of realism used here. If you duel and die - your character is GONE! We don't encourage any PVP (player versus player) activity though, some folks just hate being ganked (jumped, killed and having all your "stuff" stolen) so this is a non-pvp shard. Makes for interesting role-play, trust me! grins
