Wood Chalice History

Wood Chalice History

Many tales have been written based on live events that have happened in Wood Chalice. Some residents are great writers, and they submit "books" to the College Library (where new players are born) in Moonglow (Trammel). [Note* those that have a bit of trouble writing get edited by me. LOL] Frequently, books locked in the library are copied here for public perusal.

Resident  Mini-profiles Some of the residents of Wood Chalice have provided these mini-profiles for their characters, and others have let the administration write something about them. (*eVil grin* ™) To see how you fit in, or prove how you will be an outcast, compared your developing character.

Residents Backgrounds

Many role-players have lengthy history and backgrounds attached to their developed characters.  Those that wish to relinquish a link to a historical web page, or submit their history can have it posted here with Wood Chalice.

Events Impromptu events are always happening around the lands.  You may meet a beggar on the street - which may really be a GM setting up a quest storyline.  You may meet another resident along the way that becomes a life-long friend.  No matter what goes on, Wood Chalice Events are always interesting and fun for all of those that choose to participate. (Role playing on Wood Chalice does NOT require that you do events, unlike some other shards.)

Sand Digging

by Deminshia

In my search for a perfect place to have my wedding reception, I traveled some famous beaches. One in particular held my attention for quite some time.  I went to a secluded island called Magencia.  They have a very private beach, with a cabana and a few tropical servants maintaining service to the beach.  To my surprise the day I visited, however, the beach was deserted.

There was broken debris all over, along with various sized shipping crates scattered all over the sand.  Something shiny caught my eye, so I picked at it and found some gold coins mixed in the mess. There were many shards of broken glass, but in some of the crates, I found neatly packed bottles - unbroken - that had a myriad of colors in their potion elixirs.

I wasn't able to gather much because hungry animals from the woods around the area kept trying to turn me into a shack, so I returned to the mainland and found Argent Silver, and my beloved Phoenix to accompany me back.

Whilst Phoenix cleared the beach and edge of the woods, Argent, who was astute in alchemical studies, and I were able to recover quite a few things by digging deeply into the sand and the edge of the ocean waters. Argent recorded not only the items found, but his findings of what was inside these potions and what their value could be.

Some of the bottles of fluid seemed to be in groups of the same markings, so between all of the labels, most of which were pretty well worn, we were able to decipher some of the formations contained therein. Argent, however, took the remaining bottles for experimental study, since that is his profession.

Alchemic Value
by Argent Silver
In the line of work known as alchemy, a lot of variables take place. Most have to do with equivalent exchange.  I never thought of the possibilities and applications that could be used in such a way to find the variables I see before me. Recovering some artifacts from a ship wreck, I have found that there seems to be a side of alchemy that not many have known of. This is my investigation and findings. Hopefully, i can come to understand the nature of this new power.

Potions and Effects:
1 - Invisibility Potion - Indeed this is as it sounds, a potion that allows the consumer to become invisible. very useful tool if can be recreated.
2 - P.. Resurrect Potion - As the name sounds, I have deciphered the last two words, but the first eludes me. It actually is as it sounds. A potion of resurrection, used on the dead.
3 - Shrinking Potion - Yes, this is by far the greatest find from the adventure. I found a potion once used on a pet, that could shrink it to fit in your pocket. an AMAZING find.
4 - Mana Potion - A potion that restores a mages mana, somewhat like a refresh potion does.
5 - Super Potion - Well, this potion was in a semi-dark blue bottle, a bit raised all ability scores by 10, STR, DEX, INT.
6 - Super Repair Potion - This potion that can help repair damaged equipment, or so I have come to expect.

Council of Mages

by Lord Malfwyn

Dedicated to the principle of Balance in all things.  Without Evil, what value has Good?  Without Chaos, what value Order?  Each member is left to pursue his own path, save that balance must be maintained.

The Guild was re-established by Lord Malfwyn, son of Aeoleus, upon the tragic death of the former ruling Council at the hands of a Daemon doing the bidding of some unknown foe.

After assuming the leadership of the Council, Lord Malfwyn continued his search for the TRUE Council of Mages as instructed by his father. Lord Malfwyn's father was acolyte to the great Mage Mondain himself, he who ensorcelled a world into the Gem of Immortality.  The current Council still seeks to find the TRUE Council of Mages, to obtain information long sought by Aeoleus, and now Lord Malfwyn after him.

Wedding Day

by Alex Cross

Sad to say this event I was somewhat late to, I did hear from others what had taken place before my arrival, all were called tot he temple and there the vows were exchanged and rings as well. I'm told that Lady Deminshia looked exceptionally beautiful.  I was however, there in time to catch some of the action as it were.  At first the event seemed calm, light hearted drinking and merriment.  A great many showed, Lady Deminshia and Lord Phoenix of course, along with Righn Wiggins, Bene Tellemara, Metira Zeirnath, Argent Silver, Statix and the Princess Amidalla. But then, as things tent to it went ill.

Malfwyn the mage came, a tad bit upset over not being invited, words were short and sharp and then he set down one of the potions from the Destard raid that bore Deminshia's name.  Amidalla at this time confronted him, again unpleasantries were exchanged and Malfwyn seeing this as perhaps not the best place to state his full mind made a speedy exit.  Of course, after he left the party continued, a list of the gifts was begun followed by more drinking.  A little while later, Sam Shortshanks made it as well.  Fashion of course was a large issue, while those of my order of course wore white.  The others that came had quite interesting cloths. From Statix, green cape, Bene blue armors, and Argent Silver's beautiful array of colors.  As the party got going it wasn't long before Same got himself a bit drunk of course making the party just a bit more interesting.  Phoenix made a simple yet heartfelt speech, followed by more drinking. Then of course, the best part - CAKE!  It was a rather beautiful one at that, even so that even Statix's blood drinking did little to hold back people's appetites.

At this even Statix even offered to give me a fine record of the vampiric guild.  A topic I am most interested in. At this time Metira asked Statix to dance. I've never witnessed a vampiric dance before, I can honestly say it was interesting.  This was followed by more drinking (mental note: See to it everyone gets dancing lessons). There was even something of a Vampire song... SOMETHING of one, anyway.  it was then that Deminshia had us all come outside, to see the gift she had gotten for her husband.  A large improvement to his home that constituted of a dock and ferry that led clear across the ocean, which was quite beautiful as well.

At this point I ran out of ink but did manage to get some more in time to writ edown the events closing.  Lady Deminshia and Lord Phoenix road off across the ocean on pure white sea horses and quests were left to entertain the remaining guests.
